Was working full-time in ministry something you always thought you would do? How did God lead you to be working in the church?
I was really only dreaming about full time ministry – I never thought it would happen. It seemed to be an unreachable dream. But after being a secretary for two months at a brokerage company, my first job, the Lord  lead me to a Christian ministry (Reménység Magjai Foundation). After eight years of working there I was ready to move on and I was seeking the Lord to guide me in that. I was ready to work into a secular workplace as well, if the Lord wanted that. I was praying, that if the Lord wanted me to move on, without me looking for a job, He would lead me to one. My needs were specific, I needed a part-time job, because I was doing a magazine-layout school at that time. Two days later Greg Opean, the pastor, called me and told me that the Lord lead him to invite me to join the staff of the church as a graphic design person. I could start part-time. God’s leading couldn’t have been more specific. After this conversation with Greg, the Lord also gave me a Bible verse in which he assured me that He still wants me to serve Him full time. “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Cor 15:58)

You’re a graphic designer and also a translator of books – but these jobs are so different. What do you enjoy the most about these 2 different types of work.
On one hand I always like aesthetics, creativity. In working with graphics I can indulge myself in these. I also love languages very much, that's why I became an English teacher. I always had it on my heart to translate good English Christian literature into Hungarian so that those who don't speak English could be built up by them. So with one of my jobs I influence the content; with the other job I influence how the content looks. So, you see these two are not that far from each other actually.

You are a professional singer. You have a solo CD as well. Tell us about that.
I don’t consider myself professional at all. I didn’t study music, only in a self-taught way. I started to take voice lessons five years ago. I felt that the Lord has called me to praise Him, sing to Him. I tried to be faithful in that. Walking on this path I bumped into this opportunity to sing worship songs on a CD. This was a great privilege and honor for me.

Has there been a specific event, time or person in your life, that has really shaped your Christian walk and the direction God has led you on?
The most different and challenging times of my life shaped me the most... without those times I wouldn’t be who I am today.
Those friends who accept me, stand by me, support me in my faith, show what grace means. (I won't start listing their names so that I don't miss anybody)
Bible studies in Golgota, Pastor Greg's grace oriented thinking and teaching.
Ivan Folk who gave me the final kick to start taking voice lessons.

For you, what’s the most rewarding thing about serving in the church?
Knowing that my work and labor is not in vain because it has eternal value. Knowing that whatever I do helps people to get to know God who can give meaning, hope and future to their lives.
