You came to Christ in Calvary Esztergom. Please share about it.

When I became a Christian in Esztergom, there was no Calvary there yet :-). There were only four missionaries and 3 young people, including myself, who came together to worship and study the Bible. I'm extremely thankful that God called me at this time and I have been able to witness and take part in the amazing work that God has been doing in Hungary. God pulled me out of dark depths. If I hadn't met Jesus in Esztergom at this particular time, I might not even be alive now. I had a lot of dark issues, I used my fists a lot, I did drugs... God saved me from all of these.

I remember that I gave my life to Jesus at the very first Bible study I went to. I was unbelievably touched by the fact that God is interested in me, that He wants to protect me and take care of me. This is a wonderful memory.

How did God call you to full time ministry?
From the moment I got to know those first Calvary missionaires, I wanted to be a pastor. Not because I thought too highly of myself - because I am really so far from it! - but because I simply wanted to share the Bible to others.

With this desire in my heart I grabbed every opportunity to serve. Whatever ministry they asked me to do, I said yes. I was a greeter in the church, then I was responsible for the sound, then I was leading worship and teaching in the children's ministry, and then I was the worship leader in the church. God gave me the courage to start doing these things and He also blessed me in them.

So there was no great, special calling as such, just a strong desire to serve. And God showed me to always be faithul in the things He entrusted me with.

In the meantime I studied the Scriptures as though I had to teach from them. And then finally once they asked me to actually teach. Then in time it happened that I had the opportunity to do this full time. Some churches decided to support me financially. So this is how I became a full-time servant.

Would you like to see more churches to be planted in Hungary? How do you think this could happen?
Of course, this is one of my greatest desires. But I can only talk about how this actually happens in my life.

I always look for places where a new home fellowship or Bible study could be started. My attention is especially tuned to these places, people who have the desire to have regular Bible studies in their town or home.

I don't do anything else, just go there and start the Bible Study and see what God is doing. I like to take others with me to help, so that they could see how a new church is planted. In the meantime, I'm waiting for the fire that has been given to me to also grow in them, so that they would step out when they see another similar opportunity.

I'm praying that more and more people would be courageous and would leave their comfort zones when God is opening a door before them.

Which were the most valuable lessons that you learned during your walk with God?
There is no impossible person for God! This relates to my favorite Bible verse. God is looking for people who are available. You don't have to feel ready for the thing He is calling you. You don't have to be strong and smart enough! When He is calling you, just say yes to Him, and Jesus will be your abilty, strength and wisdom.

Jesus is extremely merciful and full of grace with me and everybody else. As Peter says in one his letters, He is the “God of all grace”. This grace helps me to be who I am.

What do you consider to be the greatest reward in being a servant in the church?
Is there any greater reward then having God as your boss? :-)  but seriously... I can't say anything else, because it is a great reward to be supported so that I could serve others full time. It is an amazing reward to see lives changing with my own eyes. It is a great reward to serve with the Calvary Budapest staff. It is a great reward to serve under a senior pastor who loves the Word and the people of God so much.

I'm abundantly grateful, and I consider it a reward  that I can teach, lead and serve in a church like Golgota!
