2011. 11. 12.
Erre novemberben lehetőség is nyílt.
A hiányzó két jelentkezőt két póttaggal kiegészítve végül sikerült nyolcan összejönnünk ebédelni Csepelen, kellemes környezetben Tóth Erika kedves vendéglátását élvezve.
Vajon üdvözítheti-e őt egyedül a hit?
17. Ugyanígy a hit is, ha cselekedetei nincsenek, halott önmagában.
…
20. Akarod-e hát tudni, te ostoba ember, hogy a hit cselekedetek nélkül meddő?
(Jakab 2: 14:22)

Házigazda: Török Ági
Egy csodás estét töltöttünk együtt végül hatan, nyolc helyett. Ínycsiklandozó ételek voltak a vacsoránál, indiai húsoktól kezdve töltött tojáson és tésztasalátán keresztül túróruditortáig sok finomságot kóstolhattunk meg. Jó beszélgetések és végül ismerkedős játék gazdagította a programot. Addig beszélgettünk, amíg csak talpon bírtunk maradni. Reméljük lesz folytatás ...

Házigazda: Egry JuditSzombat este 6kor kezdődött a vacsora, igazi „menzás” tea volt a vendégváró ital, ami a teljes létszámban összegyűlt csapatnak jól esett a nagy hidegben.
Judit

We had a wonderful afternnon and we had traditional and not so well known food involved like grilled chicken, suchi, strawberry cake, fruits and a lot of snacks. Thought it was only the 6 of us around the table we had a wonderful time talking. The whole afternoon went so fast. Everybody had a great time.

From the first moment the group was in harmony. The Lord didn't only take care of our fellowship, but He also provided us with a really rich dinner, so we can only be thankful to Him for bringing us together and being with us all along, as you can see it on our group picture.
Real conncections and friendships were born in that 6 hours we spent together. Unfortunately one of our group members got sick and couldn't come. We have already organized another meeting on April 9 and we really hope he can come, so we can get to know him as well.
The most wonderful thing was that we could open up to each other and share “things” one would not normally share at the first meeting with people you have just met. Praise the Lord!
Dinner for 8 is a great idea and program from the Lord, so we can only encourage everybody to take part at one the next time, maybe even as a host.

Dinner for 8, or actually 7 around the table
An enthusiastic, curious and happy crowd gathered on Saturday for lunch. We were all curious to get to know the others, since we didn't know each other at all. It was a great opportunity to get to know new people. So we asked a lot of questions to make sure we get to know who is who.Edina – the open and welcoming host
Csilla – the smiling and helpful university student
Dávid – the all curious, fluent in Hungarian French guy
Kati – the wounded and silent listener
Viktor – the honest, curious, coffee drinking policeman
Kata – the playful and funny kindergarden teacher
Dénes – the tactful and humble spiritual guy
Anita – the missing linkThe group will continue their activity on their second meeting :)

Host: Márta Fánczó
The evening was very pleasant. Unfortunately somebody couldn't come, but it was still the 8 of us. :) The week before the dinner some of us were worried about the food, because there were various diatery need: vegetarian, gluten free. But everybody contributed to the evening with some food, so we have plenty, nobody remained hungry, and we even had left overs.
We had a wonderful time talking to each other, so time flew by fast. It was great to get to know new faces, build new relationships.
I encourage everybody to take part at a dinner like this.
I hope there will be many more dinner for 8.

Host: Kriszta Bitto
We finished our delicious meal. We had a lot from all kinds of food that one can dream of :)
The group was spending a nice get to know time with each other. Some were late but it is no wonder since we were all adults with busy lives. Unfortunately one of us couldn't come, and we didn't know why.
This was my first Dinner for eight event and I loved it. Now I will have familiar faces in the church and I won't feel like an outsider any more :-)
We had time for games after lunch and we were in the mood to play. I laughed so hard that even some drops of tears came out.
I hope all the members of our group left feeling so positively about the afternoon.
Thanks to our host for her hospitality!
Peace
Gréta Riman

Host: Csilla Adorjan
One of the guests shared this summary of the evening:
"Eight of spent a lovely evening last night around dinner. Our host, Csilla made sure that our evening started exciting: first we had to buy a plain ticket to Kőbánya, than after landing we had to find the tallest building around. After accomplishing all these our prize was entering her warm, friendly and share a wonderful dinner together. While waiting for all the members of our group, we started to get aquianted. I think - and we all liked this - we were total strangers for each other, so it was a wonderful opportunity to get to know new brothers and sisters. (Thanks to God) we are so many in the church, that it always feels good to talk to new people. The dinner was pleaseing to every one of us, and thanks to some of our diligent guests we were able to taste some lovely desserts as well. After dinner with a glass of wine in our hands we continued our chatting. We got to know something about everyone, and though the time was short to get deeply get to know each other, we still became richer by seeing how colorful our church is. Thank you Csilla for opening your home before us!"
Host: Eniko Anika
Hello dear reader who would like to get to know more about Dinner for 8. We spent a lovely dinner together on Nov 27, 2010. Instead of 8, it was 9 of us.
I encourage everyone to go to a Dinner for 8. :-). After finding out that Eniko is going to be our host, we started emailing each other about who would bring what. After sharing about 30 emails everyone kind of knew what to bring to bless others.
While ladies were able to show off with their delicious meals, the gentlemen brought wine, drinks and salads.During our dinner we shared a friendly chat with each other (our late lunch turned into a dinner), then sitting in a circle we ate our desserts and got to know who does what for a living, which hospital they were born in (which is an important fact... ;-) how long they have walked with the Lord, and how closely they are connected to Calvary Budapest.
These connections to the church will be much more personal through these new acquaintances and possible friendships.
To summarize it: we were able to get to know amazing people. Thank you for the opportunity. I think I can speak in all of our names: because of this experience we'll go to the next Dinner for 8.
Judit

Host: Kriszta Belteki
The experience was really nice, thank you for the organization.

We had no pictures taken, but we had a very nice dinner with three ladies and a gentleman. Thank you,

Host: Vera Csapó
Hi everyone,
Since I have started coming to Golgota only a couple of months ago, I signed up as a host because I thought it would be a good opportunity to get to know other people from the church. So on March 27 we had one of the "tables" which was surrounded by actually only 5 people, not 8. Having less people though was not a disadvantage at all, because we had more time to get to know each other.
Good food, nice desserts, good conversation highlighted the 3-4 hours that we spent together. I would love to take part in a Dinner for 8 again, and to be a host. I'm looking forward to meeting my new friends at church who used to be “strangers” before the dinner.
Veronika Csapó

Host: Maria Gottschall:
We also had a fun afternoon together. Everybody provided a lot of food, the dinner table was full of salads, cookies, honey-mustard chicken, yoghurt cake.
We hardly could fit around the table :-) We also had a fine Villányi wine while we chatted. We discussed how each of us had joined the church. It was great to see how diverse our group was, but Christ is the common link. Maybe we'll get together again.
You did a great job selecting the people for our group. :-))
Thanks!!!

Host: Csilla Gulyás:
Csilla Gulyás' family hosted us in their cosy, spacious home in Solymár. We needed the space because 13 of us were there as guests, not including the five children of our hosts.
We were treated very well, everybody could come by car. Our group was very colorful both concerning personality and age (from age 5 to 70).
For many of us it was the first time to meet each other. Our converstions flowed freely. We talked about coming to Christ, God's leading in our lives and we could also hear some great testimonies. Some made us laugh hard while we had yummy mayonnaise eggs, cheese cake, muffins and salty snacks with nice tea and white wine (of course in moderation).
On Sunday it was great to see the new friends in church : ))
Dear Csilla and Peter, thank you for this uplifting afternoon.
In the name of a really big family,
Angéla

Host: Gyula Kocsis:
We ate and had fun. We praised the Lord and we all shared why we love to come to Golgota.
It was a pleasant, cheerful evening. I hope all the guests felt the same way.
Kati-Gyula.

Hosts: Tünde and Michael:
Dinner for 8 was a great success all round, everyone who didn't get lost got here on time and everyone who got lost- got found! We made Gluten free Mushroom soup and Turkey curry with rice for everyone and dessert and drinks were contributed kindly by our guests.
The conversation flowed freely through the evening accompanied by some of our favourite Christian music.
This was our first experience of Dinner for 8 and our first at hosting and we would definitely do it again, it gave all of us a chance to get to know each other and we all keep in contact since that evening.
We all enjoyed it alot and had a good laugh, And we have included the pictures from the evening.
Thankyou and Bless you for the experience
Tunde & Michael

Host: Kinga Petrényi:I have to confess that I was preparing for the evening so much that even though I had my camera ready to be used, I forgot completely about it because we got lost in such deep and meaningful conversation.
Not everybody could come, and we don't know if we're going to meet again, but hopefully we will. We had an odd one out :) a guest who missed his own group, because their dinner was moved to Friday, but we were glad it happened this way.
I suggested a menu for the evening which the others willingly accepted and even ate (desipite the fishbones). I even heard them saying that it was delicious. :)
Those who came were very nice. I had the same feeling as I had when I first went to the gospel choir rehearsal recently. People were so nice and patient with each other. They didn't only bring cookies and drinks, but they offered themselves too.
We talked about how they came to Calvary first, somebody even shared what causes difficulties for them in the church.
Since there were five ladies and one gentleman we started to talk about some female topics, like finding our mates. But since Marci is also single, it was a topic that also interested him too. We discussed whether it is the expectation of spiritual, emotional purity and relationship with God that makes it harder or is it the lack of oppeness and the coldness of people in the world that causes difficulty in finding our mate.
Topics like programs in the church, building relationships, deepening our faith and studying also came up, and we were able to share ideas and experiences. This dinner was very valuable for me, and it affirmed the same impression I got in the choir: I am among the right kind of people. Thank you!
Kinga
Host: Emi Selzák:
I’m happy to share about a great Saturday evening.
During the week we organized who would bring what and everybody did a great job in arriving on time and bringing wonderful food... let me say, nobody stayed hungry.
Dia had to cancel the dinner in the last minute, but I invited an old friend of mind who is open to talk about the world and spiritual things. We went deep into discussions after a short introduction. We talked about what it means to become a Christian. We kind of bombarded him with our definitions... maybe it was a little too much for him, but for the others it was a blessing that they were able to share their faith with him.Because of the Earth Day we switched off the lights for an hour and had romantic candle light instead...
We had a cool and laid-back atmosphere all through the night which was due to the guys who loved to talk. After adjusting our watches to the day light saving time we said good-bye to each other at midnight until we see each other in the morning in the church.
What was surprising for me was the average age at the table. My guests were almost all in their twenties, the oldest in their thirties. Before we had bigger age gaps among the guests. Of course it was not a problem, I tried to be young as well :)))
I think we can all say thanks for the organization and we are gladly looking forward to the next event
Emi

Dear Brothers and Sisters,we have had a very pleasant time at our host, Marcus Frakes.Good food, nice people, thanks for all of you for this opportunityto get to know each other a bit.

Wishing to have similar occasions also in the future,Slezak Emilia
Hello,
I hope I can talk in everybody’s name when I say that our dinner for 5 was great.
Probably we were the smallest group in the history of dinner for 8, but it surely wasn’t a disadvantage because we had more time to share our thoughts and opinions when we were talking. So, we were very satisfied.
I think the food was especially great, let’s say I would give 9.5 points out of 10. :-D
I was a little worried about group dynamics, because I'm not a big talker. But Évi, Luca and Eszter were great and talkative and smiled a lot.
So I think we had great conversations.
It was great to get to know each other, we now know more faces and get more smiles when we go to Golgota.
We are definitely looking forward to more dinner for 8 events.

Kristóf and Brigi
Hi,
Greetings to you all. Just wanted to say a very big thank you for coming round on Saturday. I had a very lovely time, hope you all did too.
I was once again reminded of how God takes care of the smallest things in our lives. Before we even open our mouths to ask in prayer, He provides. He uses people who don't even realise they are an answer to someone's prayer. It was so beautiful to see God provide all we needed to make the evening nice. We praise Him forever.
God bless you all and have a great week.
Love
Florence
We went to Péteri to visit Anett Kirchner on February 21.
I want to thank you for making this happen. I think I can speak of all of our names that we had a great time.
It was hard to kick us out to leave in the evening :) (just a joke). It was great.

Rob
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We joyfully share with you that after some sicknesses due to our good God we were able to meet with our dinner for 8 company. 5 out of 8 could come and spend a splendid evening to gether. We got to know each other a bit and we talked a lot. We could listen to each other's testimonies about God's eternal love. We also took some pictures.
We think starting dinner for 8 was a great idea.

God bless you all,
Judit and Lajos
We really enjoyed spending time with these dear brothers and sisters. What I most love about dinner for 8 is that from now on it is going to be easier to start conversations in the church, if we run into each other, and we actually do.
We are a married couple. We see that maybe some of those single guests we had are looking for their mates. So my prayer is that may these dinner for 8 events could start friendships that could also end up in a marriage. How great would it be if one of the couples in the church could testify that they got to know each other at the Gulyás'. May it be so.
Thank you for all the organizing, God bless your work.

Dear Organizors,
We could spend a wonderful evening together in Solymár at a kind family, at the Gulyás', Peter and Csilla and therir 5 children. They made room for us and we could enjoy their great hospitality and love. We had Gulyás soup (how apt), cakes, cookies, whatever you want.
And then I haven't even mentioned their great testimony yet which is their life that they shared with us without words, but we also had wonderful conversations which helped us to draw closer to each other.
The three guests who couldn't come can be sorry for missing this great evening. A great thank you for the Gulyás family.

Hello,
We had much fun despite of 3 guests not showing up. Of course we forgot to take pictures because we got lost in our conversations. With the girls we mainly talked about the difficulties of being single. There was one person in the group whom nobody knew, so 4 out of the 5 people knew each other. As a start we played a game to get to know each other with photographs. Everybody had to bring a childhood photo which we put in a hat when people were arriving. When we played the game everybody had to pull a picture and guess who it can be. Since there were not too many of us, it was easy to find out who is who. After that you could ask 3 questions of that person whose photo was matched. Well, half of the evening went by this way. Then we had Italian spagetti for dinner. The last guest left around midnight, but the others didn’t leave before 10 either. They all arrived at 5. So, we had fun.
The Kenéz Family
Hello everybody,
We finally ended up being 11 because 3 extra people wanted to come. We had dinner together and talked. We were too many to get to know each other in a deeper way, but it was fun being together. Several people wrote emails after the party saying they enjoyed it. I'm really glad about it.
I just want to thank you for your support and prayers :)
Dóri
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to thank you all for the memorable evening last Saturday. And I feel this dinner should not pass without a big public THANKYOU toward our hosts, Doini and Heidi, for preparing a delicious meal, cleaning the apartment before the guests and after the guests, setting up the candles,
conducting a professional Uno-training, etc :)
It is always great to spend time with members of the Kingdom of God, and I am looking forward this reunion thing :)

Best regards,
Áron
Dear Organizors,
We had a very nice lunch together, at least that's what the feedback shows. Nobody got sick from the food :o), only me but because of being worried if the party would go well.
I think the group was a great match, some friendships just started (i hope).

Let's have more dinner for 8 parties!

hike
With new strenght we climed up to the Vihar hill. On the way down a light rain refreshed us, but we were dry again in Virágos nyereg.
On Gercse meadow we visited the Gercseny Church which was originally built in the 13th century. We camped down in front of the cross and worshipped the Lord again with one string less but with even more joy. In the wonderful afternoon some of us laid down in the grass and napped a bit. It was actually a relaxing hike than a heavy energy draining hike, but the alternative option of climbing of to Csúcs hill was not preferred. Some people would have rather visited a sweet-shop instead, so they left in the direction of Pesthidegkút. András who thought it was too light of a hike, left for Nagy Kevély.
The others went back to the starting point and checked out a broken gas pipe on the way caused by a backhoe. We said goodbye finally with soar skin and limbs but happily tired. It was a wonderful and lovely day filled with love. We hope new friendships were made this day.
boat cruise
Cruise for 8 :)))
At 8 we met at the dock of Vigadó square. It was exciting to wait, not knowing who will come. There are so many people in the church, we pass by each other on Sunday though on this Saturday we got to know how much we are able to laugh together. :)
The boat cruise was wonderful to Visegrád, but the best was that we laughed and talked deeply with each other.
I was so touched I cried and because I laughed so much. I again experienced that we have the same Spirit and we are the same in such a different was :). It was such a good feeling not to be lost in the worlds but to be in fellowship.
Despite the weather forcast we had a wonderful day and new friendships were born.
Our country is so beautiful. We had a picnick, a hike and as real sheep do, we got lost after the first turn. But our great Shepherd lead us to the right path. :)
We met a Polish Cahtolic group and had a nice talk with them as well. I really liked blowing soap-bubles. :)))
We shared how we came to Christ. It was wonderful to hear how many different way there are for the Lord to address us. All this was so natural, so full of joy.
We got tired by the evening. I can't remember when i got to bed at 9pm, but this evening I did.
I'm grateful to the organizorsfor for the Free Saturday ministry and to the Lord so that He is taking care of us through this and He has blessed this day as well. :)
I can't wait for the next Free Saturday.

gokart
Our group joining Szabi's group decided to go to the Csömör gokart place. It was the 8 of us. We begin with a 10 minute warm-up because some people have never sat in a gokart before.
Then we had a 10 minute trial run and a 2x15 min contest. The second contest start was according to the results of the first contest, so that the last ones were closer to the start line.
Everybody really had a fun time despite of the heat, but at the end of the day the weather cooled off a bit too.
We are planning to go again in the Fall.
Thank you for the whole team so this afternoon could happen.

bycicle tour
We were given a wonderful day. We were blessings for each other and we had the chance to peek into each other's life and what God is doing. We also were marvelling the beauties of nature, sunshine, excercise, enjoyed laying in the grass and the taste of cakes in a sweet shop.
We agreed to do another tour together and we have already exchanged some emails about it.
It was the 4+1 of us on bycicles. We did the same tour like last year (but since it was only me who was there last year, it was new for the rest of the group.)

Bowling

Invisible Exhibition
We had a very friendly welcome by István (who cannot see with his eyes but can clearly see with his heart) who first showed us some practical tools they use in their everyday life. The finger protecting onion cutter was very interesting. It looked like a very thick comb.
They have an aid for cooking eggs, that is a special bowl used for putting the eggs into boiling water. We could try the speaking computer, the typewriter for the blind and several table games.
The chess pieces have cute hooks on their top to be distinguisable, the black and whilte sqares on the board are engraved to be different.
After learning about the practical tools we had a challenge before us.
We were lead to a totally darkened room where we had to find our way to a house standing on pebbly soil. Of course we had to identify some gardening tools in the garden by merely touching. The manliest men among us could even distinguish between the axe and the sickle. The girls felt more familiar inside, the table, chairs, kitchen utensils seemed easier to identify for them for the first touch.
Outside we were testing our ears. Following the sound of birds and splasing water we found an arched wooden bridge which we were all able to cross without getting wet. We reached a wooden forest house with typical furniture. We were a little frightened by some fur nailed to the wall, but we pulled ourselves together when we realized that it is not moving and went on. We had never thought the street experience will be even more shaky. Bicycles, cars, traffic lights, pavement with bars, road, street noises. It was scary to experience all these noises in total darkness. The next stop seemed to be a peaceful island after this. It was a bar with armchairs, bar stools, tables, a counter and a professional blind bar tender, all these still in total darkness. To sit dow, order and pay in a bar is not easy even when you can see, but it is a real challenge when you cannot see, just like any other situations in life.
The purpose of this exhibition for the ones who can see is to experience (even if for a short time) what it is like to live without our most important sense in this world.
But we actually learned something else from István. The visible world is sometimes very beautiful, but sometimes it is very ugly. But the world is always beautiful for the blind because they build it from their inner beauty to what they want to see it. The peace, understanding, meak love which are radiating from them challenged us the most: which world is more important, the visible or the invisible one?
Enjoy finding the answer.

Bicycle tour
We were biking on beautiful land, mainly on asphalt forest roads (where cars couldn't enter). For some parts we were riding in the forest on a thin path following a brook or slowly crossed almost collapsing wooden bridges. We also climbed up a long slope (without getting off our bikes) but the beauty of the scenery and the speed we reached on the other side of the slope compensated us for the effort.
We stopped oftern and we found two wells with cold water. We laid down in the grass on Pap-rét (Pap field), enjoyed the sunshine, the fresh are and good company. We talked about almost everything: from nature worshipping God, evolution to mould and decay :)
Our small group had three girls and two guys. Thanks to Eszter Bori for organizing the trip. We are looking forward to the next tour.
